ALL ABOUT THE TIOGA
Our next item up for bid is an equally fantastic and rare value. This is a 1990 TIOGA 27' by FLEETWOOD Class C with only 5,115...I repeat 5,115 original miles. Fleetwood is one of the largest builders of quality motor homes today. Some of their models include American Eagle, Limited, Pace Arrow, Southwind, Bounder, Flair, Jamboree and of course the Tioga. The Tioga motor home we are offering for auction is a full top of the line Tioga model T/F. This means it is not the less expensive Montara or Arrow edition of the Tioga family. We acquired this low mileage beauty from a 93 year old retired San Diego State University professor. He was the second owner and purchased it in March 1992 with only 2,300 miles. The motor home was basically used for local outings such as the bay and parks and never used on extended trips. This accounts for the unusually low original mileage. It was regularly serviced and maintained, but just to be sure the next owner of this RV could hit the road with confidence, we performed the following maintenance: Six brand new steel belted radial tires (the original spare has never been on the ground), new belts and hoses, generator serviced and new carburetor, radiator removed and cleaned, new water pump and fan clutch, new plugs, wires and cap, new filters, changed all fluids and repacked the wheel bearings. Our mechanic thought we were crazy, but 10 years is still 10 years no matter how low the mileage is. All the replaced parts are staying with the motor home and can be used for spares. Receipts for the work performed are on file and available for viewing.
All steel frame construction and outside smooth fiberglass skins makes for strength and an easy care for exterior. Front and back caps are gel coated molded fiberglass. With only 5,115 original miles, this coach is in top condition throughout. If highway driving is your pleasure, I've personally had this one out on the road and it drives and handles like a dream. We have cleaned and inspected all major systems and they are functioning properly, but please, third party inspections are welcomed (at buyer expense naturally).
Excellent floor plan allows sleeping for up to 6 persons. The spacious rear bedroom has twin beds with plenty of upper and lower storage. Up front lounge area is equipped with a full 4-person dinette that easily makes into a sleeper. The over the cab sleeping compartment is queen size with plenty of nose room. Private side bath with full shower has its own window and exhaust vent. The ceiling height throughout the Tioga is an unbelievable 7' with the lowest point being the a/c at 81". Most motor homes built today are not comfortable for those of you over 6' tall. So if you hate ducking, this might be the one for you! Keep in mind that this is the perfect floor plan for the family of four. Each child has their own personal bed at sleep time. While mom and dad can enjoy the comforts of the spacious queen size overhead and 3/4 of the motor home. Which includes the bath, kitchen, dinette, swivel chair and exit doors. This Tioga is not a basement model RV, but it does have good sized lower storage compartments on the exterior. You get more lower storage with a full basement, but it makes the motor home about 14" taller and in some cases harder to control in high winds. Still, as you can see by the pictures, the Tioga has ample exterior storage. The tires are brand new steel belted radial tires with stainless wheel liners. The exterior, except for one small area on the rear corner (click here to see damage), is in excellent condition and the whole coach has been hand waxed and detailed. The roof is a convex design, that allows for fast rain run off, which makes it very water tight. As with all our motor homes, this one has been checked for leaks.

Before I list the options and features, please let me add that if you are considering the purchase of this or any motor home and you’re the average American who works hard for their money…. remember RV’s never appreciate in value. This doesn’t mean you can’t sell one for more than you paid for it. But as a rule of thumb, their value is constantly falling. Kelly Blue Book comes out 3 times a year and very rarely does an RV ever go up in value and the newer they are the faster the values fall. In my opinion, this means the less you spend, the happier you’ll be!
New, the original owner spent close to $50,000 for this RV. It has now depreciated half of it’s value in 10 years….and that hurts. But on the bright side, it now can be owned and driven with very little depreciation. Price a new full Tioga today and then take the down payment, tax and license dollars and bid on this beauty. Kelly Blue Book says for a 1990 model, 5,100 is extremely low miles.... you do not deduct $$$ till the odometer hits 68,000 miles, anything less is an add in value. You could put 60,000 miles on this one in the next ten years and it still would be considered low miles
CONDITION REPORT
I buy and inspect 100's of motor homes a year and feel I have a very realistic idea of what is excellent condition and what is not. It's extra clean inside and out, with no funny interior odors. Even the burners on the stove show little or no use. The only thing that shows some wear and age discoloration is the carpet, but definitely not excessive and to some really not even noticeable. All appliances are clean and are in working order. The roof has just been resealed also. As I stated before...the running condition is excellent. EVERYTHING WORKS!!! In other words...It's ready to Hit The Road. Once again we will not hesitate for third party inspections at the buyers expense.
In the business, motor homes like this TIOGA are referred to as ‘stand up units’, ‘ cream puffs’ , 'cherries' or just plain ‘sweet’. What that really means to you is, this one is extra clean inside and out, non-smoking, no pets, hasn’t been used as a full time live aboard and most importantly, well maintained. Once again we will not hesitate for third party inspections at the buyer's expense.

Starting as a glorified hobby in January 1995 we have quickly grown to selling over 125 pre owned RV’s (motor homes, trailers and 5th wheels) per year. The inventory we have is personally owned and is not consigned. We found that most parties that wanted to leave consigned RV’s for sale did not care to invest any more $$$ into cleaning and refurbishing. Well, that’s the first thing that we do here…spend more money on each unit that we buy. If the refrigerator doesn’t work, we fix it. If the roof a/c doesn’t blow cold, it’s repaired. If it’s dirty, we clean it. Would you believe most used RV’s have never been washed, waxed or detailed properly. You’d be surprised what 40 man hours (on the average) can do for a coach. And since we own what we sell, we’re as cautious as you would be when buying a pre owned vehicle. The last thing we want to do is spend good money on bad inventory with major problems and even worst pass them on to a customer. As I stated above....can you as a buyer, have a qualified third party inspect any of our coaches?….you bet! In over 8 years of selling used RV’s I’ve never lost a sale due to a pre purchase inspection….I welcome them. Please remember, no one can make a used motor home 100% perfect, if that is your desire, brand new is the only way to go and sometimes they are not perfect. From our beginnings we have used the "Why Don't You Sleep On It" approach to sales. We feel a buyer with reliable information and no pressure is much more satisfied with their purchase. This philosophy, attitude and answering all questions to the best of our ability, has kept this business growing and our customers happy.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
As with most used vehicles this one is sold as is - where is, without warranty either expressed or implied. If interested we have an after market warranty available that can cover any motor home with less than 100,000 miles and 12 or less years old. A non refundable deposit to be paid within 5 business days of close of this auction equal to 10% of the selling price by Cash, Cashier’s Check or Direct Wire Transfer to our bank account. The balance to be paid by Cash or Direct Wire Transfer within 10 business days of close of auction (unless other arrangements are made). Pick up of the vehicle to be accomplished within 15 business days of close of auction or at a mutually agreed upon time between the seller and the winning bidder. If you don’t agree with these terms or are not serious about purchasing this vehicle then please don’t bid, as we wish to have a real sale at the end of this auction. Bidders with negative feedback may have their bids canceled at seller’s discretion. Bidders with little or no feedback and that have reached our reserve price may be contacted for confirmation of bid. Buyer to pay all shipping and transport costs if any are incurred.
